R E V I E W

Raymond Yale (David Roberts) and Carla Smith (Claire van der Boom) are lovers in a small Australian town living across the river from one-another. However, both are already married; Raymond to a loveless wife and Carla to a domineering petty gangster Greg "Smithy" Smith (Anthony Hayes). Ray and Carla plan to leave their respective spouses and run away together, although Ray insists that they delay until he has enough money to ensure a new life together. As a foreman overseeing the construction of a new leisure resort for property developer Gil Hubbard (Bill Hunter), Ray has been doing underhanded deals with construction worker Barney (Kieran Darcy-Smith) for the hefty kick-backs which he hopes will eventually land him enough to run off with Carla.

In the meantime, Ray and Carla are forced to conduct their affair in secret, occasionally made awkward by meeting each other at local events and by Carla's dog periodically escaping and instinctively running to Ray's house to meet his dog. One day, after returning home from work, Carla sees Smithy wiping blood off his hands and stashing a duffel-bag full of cash into their ceiling; presumably the loot from an armed robbery conducted by Smithy's gang. Carla tells Ray, insisting this to be the end of their financial troubles, and although he is initially hesitant she finally persuades him to steal the money.

Ray devises a plan. He will need to burn the house down so Smithy thinks the money was simply destroyed rather than stolen, a job for which he hires the local arsonist, Billy (Joel Edgerton). Carla will first steal the money from the hiding place and then Billy will arrive and set a fire to make it look as though it was caused by faulty Christmas tree lights.

The film opens with Danny and Vic hurriedly lining the inside of a transit van with plastic. We then see them shopping for a drill, a mattress and other supplies before entering a small flat and assembling a bed for the mattress, and stapling foam insulation and board to the walls and windows of a bedroom. Then they kidnap Alice Creed. They drag her from the street into the back of the van and, with a bag over her head and ball gag in her mouth, take her back to the flat, tying her to the bed in the room they have converted into a prison cell.

Danny and Vic are two ex-convicts planning to gain a huge amount of cash on the ransom for Alice—the daughter of a rich businessman. Danny is the younger and nervier of the two, whereas Vic is hardened and wholly intimidating. After Alice tries to escape, Danny reveals himself and it turns out that Danny and Alice know each other. Danny explains to Alice that he came up with a plan to kidnap Alice for a £2M ransom and then Danny was to take the money from Vic to share with Alice. Apparently Danny and Vic are lovers that met in prison. Danny kept Alice in the dark about the plan because he wanted the kidnapping to be "authentic". Alice is horrified by the plan but then plays along in order to try and escape later. In the 2nd escape attempt, Alice pockets a mobile phone that Vic discovers and he forces Alice to reveal Danny's plan for betrayal.

Di sebuah dunia paralel, terdapat sembilan makhluk hidup yang bernama sesuai dengan urutan angka dengan 1 (Christopher Plummer) sebagai pemimpinnya. Hidup kesembilan makhluk ini tak pernah tenang karena mereka selalu diburu robot ganas yang selalu siap memburu mereka untuk mengambil jiwa mereka.

9 menjalin persahabatan dengan 5 (John C. Reilly) yang hanya memiliki satu mata. Suatu ketika, dua sahabat ini meninggalkan tempat persembunyian untuk mencari 2 (Martin Landau) yang sempat menyelamatkan 9 sebelum ia bergabung dengan kelompok yang dipimpin oleh 1 ini.

Saat sedang membongkar-bongkar barang di antara reruntuhan 9 dan 5 dikejutkan oleh munculnya robot ganas yang siap mengambil jiwa mereka. 9 sadar bahwa mereka tak bisa selamanya lari dari robot ganas ini dan sudah saatnya mereka melawan agar terbebas dari ancaman yang selama ini menghantui hidup mereka.

Di saat yang sama, 9 juga sadar bahwa ia tak mungkin melawan robot ini dengan kekuatan fisik. Harus ada cara cerdik untuk bisa mengalahkan sang pencabut nyawa ini agar mereka bisa melanjutkan hidup mereka di planet yang kini telah dihancurkan oleh robot ini.

The film depicts the inside of a tank, and the view from inside through the gunsight (every change in the horizontal and vertical viewing direction is accompanied by the hydraulic whine of the traversing gun turret). There are four Israeli soldiers inside: the driver in the tank's hull, and the loader, the gunner and the commander in the turret. Part of the time, there is also the body of a dead Israeli soldier (kept there until it is taken away by helicopter), a Syrian POW, a visiting higher officer, and a visiting Phalangist (Lebanese Maronite Catholic allied with Israel) who threatens the POW.

The duty of the soldiers is to clear a Lebanese area of hostile fighters. They are instructed to use phosphorus grenades that are forbidden by international treaty, but to use a code word for them, to conceal their use. The gunner has never fired the tank's cannon in a war situation, and is hesitant at first. As a result, a fellow Israeli soldier is killed. The soldiers have to cope with the deteriorating state of the tank, the heat, bad atmosphere and small space inside, occasional failure of the communication equipment, navigational problems, and mutual quarrels.

S I N O P S I S

Diana (Dewi Persik) dan Gugun (Indra L. Bruggman) adalah pasangan pengantin yang baru saja menempati rumah baru mereka yang nyaman. Diana sedang hamil muda. Mereka pun sibuk mencari berbagai perabotan untuk mengisi rumah mereka Salah satunya adalah ranjang. Tetangga baru mereka, Lisye (Ayu Dewi) dan keponakannya Ling Ling (Zuzana Chang) menawarkan ranjang di toko furniture mereka.

Kebetulan Lisye baru mendapatkan lelang kasur dari sebuah kost. Ketika Diana berkunjung, entah kenapa, salah satu ranjang di dalam toko tersebut seakan bernafas dan hidup, merayu Diana untuk memilih dirinya. Ketika ranjang tersebut dibawa pulang, terjadi berbagai peristiwa aneh, yang tidak saja membahayakan kelanggengan perkawinan Diana dan Gugun, tapi juga membahayakan nyawa mereka
